Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Pain Dysfunction Syndrome

TMJ dysfunction may cause a mal-alignment of teeth, jaws and muscles. Symptoms include pain, clicking, grating sounds, and difficulty in opening the mouth widely. Some dysfunctions are induced by trauma, others are iatrogenic: caused by dental restorations that do not adequately support the way a person bites. We have successful non-surgical treatments for this serious problem.

Discovering Infections Under the Teeth

Infections can exist under the teeth and may be undetectable on X-Rays, especially in root canal treated teeth. Toxins leak out from infections and depress the normal functions of the immune system, leading to dis-ease.

Education on Relationship between Specific Teeth and Illness

When a tooth becomes infected or diseased, the organ on the same acupuncture meridian could also become unhealthy. The opposite is also true: dysfunction in a specific organ could lead to a problem in the corresponding tooth.

Correcting Root Canals that are a cause of Illness

Toxins seeping out of root canals can cause systemic diseases of the heart, kidney, uterus and the nervous and endocrine systems. This may be due to the imperfect seal at the apex that allows bacteria to grow and undergo changes.

Patients undergo surgery for a variety of different reasons. For some, the decision is prompted by the need to repair damage caused by trauma, birth defects, and/or the aging process. For others, the decision is to improve their personal appearance and well-being. In either situation, Autologous Platelet Concentrate enriched with growth factors (APC+) is one tool used by surgeons to help improve surgical outcomes.

APC+ is made from a small sample of your own blood (approximately 1.5oz). The process concentrates the platelets found in the blood sample. These concentrated platelets contain huge reservoirs of growth and wound healing factors. Growth and wound healing factors are natural components of your body. Clinical data shows that growth and wound healing factors may enhance and accelerate your body’s normal healing process.

We offer APC+ as an option to surgery patients because it offers many benefits.
