Air Purification System

Our Air Purification System is made by Eco Systems and is designed to clean dental offices. One unit is designed to clean 3,000 square feet of space. At My Dentist, in each room where we remove mercury based fillings, an Eco System has been installed. Each treatment room is less than 900 sq. ft..

In addition to these units for air purification, a specially designed water wall has been designed and installed dividing our reception room from our clinic that produces negative ions automatically cleaning the air within the clinic while it is running. Not only is the wall beautiful, the sound of running water comforting but the air smells fresh!

The air within the walls of the My Dentist Clinic and Odyssey Imaging Center is cleaner than outside our building.

The Cavitat is a sonar-imaging device used to detect jaw disease, particularly an infection of cavities in the jaw bone called neuralgia-inducing cavitational osteonecrosis (NICO). A Cavitat Scan is an Ultrasound of your jawbone and shows how healthy the bone is under each tooth.

Dr. Margolis is certified as a CEREC provider. The Cerec machine is a dental product that allows Dr. Margolis to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration utilizing a variety of computer assisted technologies, including 3D photography and CAD/CAM. With CEREC, teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the patient, rather than the multiple sittings required with earlier techniques. No more temporary crowns to lose or come off between the preparation and impression appointment and placing the crown two weeks later, when possible. Additionally, with the latest software and hardware updates, crowns, veneers, onlays and inlays can be prepared using different types of ceramic material.

Using the proprietary CEREC software in various modes, a restoration can be designed to restore the tooth to its appropriate form and function. This data on this restoration is stored in a file and is sent via wireless serial transmission or direct wiring to a milling machine. The restoration can then be milled out of a solid ceramic or composite block. Milling time varies from as little as four minutes to as long as twenty depending on the complexity of the restoration and the version of the milling unit.

Once the crown is fabricated, Dr. Margolis tries it on the patient’s tooth for fit contact between teeth and the patient’s bite. An x-ray is taken to check how the bottom of the crown (its margins) fits on the tooth itself. Appropriate adjustments are made and the crown is glazed in the office for a better finish and custom colour. The crown is then cemented. All this is done is approximately 2 to 3 hours.

All materials used are checked with the results of the patient’s material reactivity test before they are placed in our patient’s mouth.

Galileos Panoramic X-Ray

Odyssey Imaging Center is equipped with the latest up-to-date Serona’s GALILEOS 3D Cone Beam digital radiography system which combines superior imaging quality of the oral cavity, surrounding structures of the skull and neck with the lowest possible dose of radiation for excellent patient comfort. It provides advanced 3D x-rays of the entire mouth, allowing us to accurately diagnose and evaluate patients.

The Galileos is an invaluable tool in diagnosing patient’s individual needs. Other dental and medical professionals within our dental community from oral surgeons, orthodontists, other general dentists and a few doctors refer their patients for imaging by our Galileos 3D machine.

Oral surgeons can get a disc that they may adjust to examine different areas of the jaw but simply placing ‘the viewer’ over the area of interest. Our laboratory techs can highlight the mandibular nerve, maxillary sinus space, place implants from many different manufacturing systems and show impacted teeth, cysts or fractures.

General dentist can benefit from these services too. The Galileos is a simple screening panoramic, axial and horizontal views are available by the basic imaging. What is wonderful for our dental and medical professionals is an image can be taken and sent back to their office with the patient in less then an hour, depending upon how far the patient is driving.

Digital X-Rays

All x-rays taken at My Dentist are digital!

Digital radiology (x-rays) eliminates the need for chemicals to develop x-rays while reducing 70-90% of the radiation used by traditional x-rays to our staff and patients. By eliminating the need of putting dangerous chemicals into our environment and drinking water, we are protecting the health of our communities. X-rays are developed within seconds and providing a safer treatment environment for patients, staff members and practitioners alike. X-rays are an intricate part of providing excellent quality dental care.

At My Dentist, we provide only digital radiographic (x-ray) systems and a homeopathic remedy for
protecting patients against radiation that they are exposed to. Our staff members are also encouraged to take radiation drops daily.

Solar Panels

Solar Power – Eco‐Friendly Dentistry

On top of our building we have 200 solar panels allowing us to rely on natural power as much as possible.

Water Filtration System

We use water filtration on all our water entering our building. The water is then filtered before it enters the Mesa waterway system. Our mercury separator removes 99% of all heavy metals including mercury, cadmium, beryllium, nickel and more.

Intra-Oral Cameras

A picture paints a thousand words… Our Intra-Oral Camera

So many patients ask me if their dentist really needed to place a crown on their tooth or could they have done a crown? I asked them, did the dentist take a picture and an x-ray of the tooth before the work was done? Did they take a picture of the tooth after the decay or old filling was taken out? Why was the restoration done in the first place?

The truth of the matter, I do not know without these items and then I do not know why a tooth was prepared.

Our philosophy is to do a complete examination with digital x-rays. After noting what the restorations were made out of, what the health of the gums and teeth are, any past extractions sites, root canals and more are considered, I present a treatment plan with x-rays and if necessary pictures of their mouths.

Intra-oral cameras allow us to view an enlarged image of your mouth onto a computer screen during your examination and dental procedures. The tiny wand of the intra-oral camera is very comfortable for the patient, does not use radiation and allows real time video to be saved onto the computer, and printed for reference or verification for your insurance, you and us.
